Activists from Daraa reported that 235 members of the Assad forces and Hezbollah were killed in the battle “Death But Not Humiliation” which was instigated by the FSA operations room, Al-Bunyan Al-Marsous in Dara’a. The battle began in February of the current year with the aim of controlling the strategic Manshiyeh district, which is now under the control of the FSA.
Activists reported that among those dead, there are about 90 officers killed from the Assad forces of various ranks, the highest rank being brigadier-general, and 13 fighters from Hezbollah.
The activists also documented the deaths of three military leaders from Iranian, Iraqi and Lebanese militias supporting the Assad forces.
Activists added that there are about 70 bodies which were not included in the list because they were not identified.
FSA-controlled neighborhoods in the city of Daraa, are under heavy aerial and missile shelling by the Assad forces, backed by Iran and Hezbollah, to regain control of the Manshiyah neighborhood.
